If you need a place to come, I'm here to help.

I offer a safe space, without judgement, and without pressure. I’m informal, friendly, kind, approachable, caring, competent, and compassionate. My number one goal is to help you feel relief, and more connected to the real you.

Every day I help my clients cope with issues like:

  • Overwhelming stress
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Infertility, pregnancy loss, and prenatal & postpartum mood disorders
  • LGBTQ relationships and family building
  • Bereavement
  • Creating and maintaining healthy relationships
  • Learning to be okay with being vulnerable

Many of my clients have never seen a therapist before. In therapy, you get to talk about whatever is on your mind. It’s a freeing experience. You can be you, unfiltered. I’ll ask you questions. We’ll find some options.

You'll be okay.

When I first came to Chana I was struggling with postpartum depression. She listened compassionately and made me feel like I was not alone. She helped me learn tools to take better care of myself and improve my relationships so that I feel better and have more confidence as a mom.

Call today for a complimentary consultation.

Research has shown that the most important indicator of success in therapy is the rapport between client and therapist.

Before you schedule your first session with me, I offer a brief, complimentary phone consultation. Let’s talk and see if working together feels like a good fit. If it does, that’s great! If not, that’s fine, too. Please share honestly so I can help you find a therapist who best meets your needs.

Insurance: Rock Creek Counseling is no longer in-network for BCBS Carefirst. Please check with your insurance provider about out-of-network coverage.

Elana Premack Sandler, LCSW

I am a social worker with a background in public health, so as a therapist, I see a person in their whole environment. What has your life been like that's led you to this moment, and what can we change that may help take you forward? I work collaboratively, listening to what's most important to you and sharing information and resources to guide you in your choices.

I aim to help establish a sense of belonging and confidence. I help people facing both everyday transitional moments as well as life-changing decisions. I work with adults, children, and parents.

I’m here to help.
